The Clark Doll Experiment VS. A Girl like Me Video As a college student, I have noticed quite a few things about my peers and the way that they think now more than I ever have. In the Clark Doll Experiment, my eyes were clearly opened on just how bad racism still seems to be here in the United States. Judgment also seems to be an issue and sadly enough, this is a trait that we will never see go away. It was also heartbreaking to watch the video A Girl like Me and see teenagers and young adults my age talk about how they sometimes don’t feel comfortable being “black.” Overall the Clark Doll Experiment and the video A Girl Like Me are similar in ways that African Americans see the meaning behind their skin color, but they differ in how they are viewed as a different race to the public eye. …show more content…
Kenneth Clark and his wife Mamie gathered up a group of black children and set two dolls in front of them and basically asked the meaning of each doll. They were all asked the same questions, in the same exact order. It was very surprising to see that over half of them had the same answers.
