Texas had many contributions to the Civil War. For example, giving the South money they needed, lots of loyal men ready to fight, trading routes used to transport supplies and so much more. All of these things helped push the South in the right direction to have a better position in the Civil war.

The greatest advantage Texas gave to the South in the Civil War was the Economic condition..This is because it basically fueled the south in the civil war. The economic contribution is how much money Texas had made to put towards the war. They did this by selling cotton to European countries. Since in the 18,000s texas had just been annexed by america they were doing the best they could to re-populate texas after the large loss in the texan and mexican war. So Texas decided to sell large sums of land for very cheap to attract farmers to their land which over time grew a large group of slaves using farmers who grew cotton. This made it possible to sell cotton to make them about 193 million dollars which is about 1.925 Billion dollars now. …show more content…

Without these contributions many soldiers would have no guns, clothes and food to use in the war.Due to all of these factories being made it started to push women into the workforce because all the males were fighting in the war. Women and their daughters would learn how to make clothes, read , communicate and learn about politics.This was also a large step in the civil war because it started a real future for women in the US
