The Killer’s Cousin Compare and Contrast Essay
The killer's cousin by Nancy Werlin is about a seventeen-year-old boy named David Yaffe who was trialed for killing his girlfriend, He moves in with his Uncle Vic and Aunt Julia as well as his cousin Lily who is moody and mean. David will soon discover secrets about the Shaughnessy House and his family.

The first difference is that they live on separate floors of the Shaugnessy House. “My cousin Lily was eleven years old when I moved into the third floor of my Uncle Vic and Aunt Julia’s triple-decker house at the northern end of Cambridge, Massachusetts.” (3), And “We rent the first floor to a girl, a college student. She's an artist but always pays the rent on time. We live on the second…” (8) David rents the third floor of the Shaugnessy House while Lily lives on the second floor of the house with Vic and Julia. Another difference between the two is that lily and David are of different ages. “My cousin Lily was eleven years old when I moved into the third floor of my Uncle Vic and Aunt Julia’s triple-decker house at the northern end of Cambridge, Massachusetts.” (3), And “I was almost eighteen, but instead of packing for college, I was headed for a private prep school where I would repeat my senior year of high school.” (3) These quotes imply that Lily is eleven while David is seventeen when he moved into the Shaughnessy House. One other difference is that Lily wanted Kathy dead while David didn't want Emily dead. “Everything was about her. I hated her. Every night, I prayed for her to go away. To die.
