The Last of the Mohicans: Mohicans VS Hurons The Last of the Mohicans is a novel that wrote by James Fenimore Cooper, a famous American novelist. The novel was set at the French and Indian War in the late 1750s. In the story, there played several senses that the Mohicans fight with the Hurons. There are three main Mohicans that appear in this story, named Hawkeyes, Ucans and Chingchook. Magua is the chief of the Indian Hurons. We can see that the Mohicans and the Hruons’s loyalty and personality are different.
(My Favorite Westerns) One of the differences is their loyalty to British. The Mohicans are faithful. In the novel, they loyal to British and protect Colonel Munro’s daughters, Cora and Alice to find their father. When they notice the Huron betrayed British group that leads to the wrong direction, they try to catch the traitorous Huron. But the Huron are different; they are very crafty. The Mohicans is kind, caring the others and brave. In the story, when the British and the Mohicans attack by the Hurons. Hawkeyes, Ucans and Chingchook do not escape themselves and left Cora and Alice alone. They escape to the water fall together. The Hurons is savage and ruthless. They kidnap Cora and Alice two times and attack Hawkeye, Ucans and Chingchook and cause them unwarranted troubles. The chief of the Hurons-Magua also kills Uncas in the end. There is a point that the Mohicans and the Hurons are similar. They have a great unity parties. Both parties are strong because they believe and trust each other. They believe that they would not betray their tribe. When they fight with the other parties, they support each other and save their tribe’s life as possible as they can. They also trust their tribe would not abandon
