This is a question that many people have been thinking about for years. Both The 1960’s and The Modern day are different time periods. Modern day and the 1960’s are both challenging but one was definitely. Others might say that Modern day is more challenging than the 1960’s but this is false. The 1960’s were more challenging than the Modern day because of racism, The Vietnam War, and people that couldn’t live the life they wanted. In the text it says, “However in the society of the 1960’s many people were oppressed and therefore couldn’t live life how they wanted.” (Falcon 18) This means that people wanted to live their own life; they didn’t want to be controlled by other people. People wanted to have freedom over their life. The third challenge that the 1960’s faced was the Vietnam War. In the video it says, “People were trying to protest to stop the war. The people didn’t want things to lead to war so they tried to make the war come to an end.” (Crash Course) This proves that people didn’t like having the war that is why they protested to end the war but it still went on. Farmers had their land taken by the war they protested for that they wanted their land back. A lot of people think that Modern day has had a lot more challenges than the 1960’s however many more people say that. The 1960’s is a lot more challenging to the cause of law not protecting people In source 2 it says, “Laws today are better at protecting people of this generation than in the last 50 years.” (Falcon 18).
