In ¨Of Mice and Men¨, directed by Gary Sinese, Lenny is seen differently in the book than he is the movie, in more ways than one. One way that Lennie is seen differently in the movie is when we get to hear the quality of his voice. Now that the viewer gets to hear Lennie, we can now see how much his disability really affects him. Another moment where you can see Lennie 's differences, is when he gets in a fight with Curley and crushes his hand. In the book you can 't tell his facial expressions, how angry he really is or what he does in that scene.
The Puritans arrived in America in the 16th and 17th centuries hoping create a purified version of the church as they believed the Church of England had still had too many components of catholicism. Humans are also invertly evil and this wickedness is displayed throughout many stories. Finally, moral values are also a central conflict to many stories. Puritanism, the evils of all humans, and moral conflict are a central themes to all three of The Crucible, “Young Goodman Brown”, and “The Minister’s Black Veil”. Although these stories are seemingly unrelated stories on the surface however when considering the under-the-surface meanings of these stories many similarities appear including the impact of Puritanism, the wickedness of all humans, and moral conflict.
Compare&Contrast The movie “Just Ask My Children” and “The Crucible” are similar to each other in many ways. In “The Crucible’, the girls did not want to get in trouble for dancing in the forest and conjuring spirits so when it came to the courtroom they started blaming other people .
In the Crucible, by Arthur Miller, two of the most important characters are, Mary Warren and Reverend John Hale. The story takes place in Salem, 1692, when supposedly witchcraft ran rampant. John Hale gives us the knowledge of witchcraft and puritan beliefs, in the story, in order to decide whether someone was a witch or not, while Mary Warren assists Abigail Williams in the false accusations presented in order to alleviate the punishment they were facing for the actual practicing of witchcraft as well as dancing. In the story John Hale is intelligent while Mary Warren seems to want good, but is too nervous to take a stand on it.
Cyrano’s and Christian’s Silly Plan In Cyrano de Bergerac written by Edmond Rostand two men are in love with the beautiful precieuse, Roxane. One of the men, Cyrano, finds himself unattractive but what he lacks in looks, he makes up for in his astounding poetry and intellect. The other, Christian, whose defining features are his good looks, lacks wit and isn’t a good writer. An impractical plan is formulated between the men so Christian can gain the love of Roxane, despite all the problems that can be foreseen.
The poem "To My Dear and Loving Husband", and parts of the play "The Crucible" have many similarities. In the poem Bradstreet states her love for her husband, and how she'd rather not live than live without him. For example, she says, "That when we live no more, we may live ever." This statement shows how much love she has for her husband, and how she couldn't go without him. This relates to "The Crucible" because both of the stories show their love for their significant other.

Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rostand, is a story about a man who believes that he will never be loved because of his ugliness. He is however, a bright and kind man who is gifted with a talent for words. The story goes that he is in love with his cousin, Roxane. In spite of his love for her, Roxane is in love with another man, Christian.
Some people feel that it`s quite challenging locating differences between a written story and its film, though, however, some people find it considerably simple to detect differences between the pair. It is ironic that the two authors are juxtaposed for their boasting of knowing true love because one is a man of the theatre and the other is a Puritan housewife. They both have remarkable and one-of-a-kind styles of writing. To My Dear and Loving Husband and Sonnet 18 both share a theme of time. These works of literature have become well-known and classic for their strong professions of love.
There are many factors that determine how people behave in their daily lives. We are run by a number of rules and regulations that influence the way we behave, talk and live. In Lord of the Flies, William Golding shows that without the influence of a civilized society and law and order, people’s characteristics can change drastically. Similarly in Macbeth, Shakespeare represents the loss of morality of a leader as his hunger for power clouds his judgement. Both pieces of literature present how both writers view the breakdown of morality through the breakdown of civil behaviour.
Sometimes in many books and stories, characters use their motivation to fulfill a goal they have set. These said characters can be driven by love, money, greed, or revenge. Greed and money can take a toll over someone's life very greatly and affect their mindset. In The Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeare, one of the main protagonists, Petruchio, is driven by his greed to find a wife and money that comes along with her. Petruchio's intentions for his marriage are very great and demanding.
Making a movie from direct content that is more than a hundred years old is easy because all the scenes and script is there for your use. Some directors like to make some drastic or minor changes based on their own interpretation of the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare. While watching both Goold (2010) and Polanski (1971), I have noticed a lot of major differences between the two movies and the original play Macbeth written by William Shakespeare. Some of the differences I have noticed is that is in Goold (2010), Macbeth actually comes to kill Lady Macduff and her children. Another difference in Goold (2010) is that the witches are shown throughout the film.
The setting of the movie is the first obvious difference that can be seen. The movie was set in New York City, New York in 2000 while the play was set in Elsinore, Denmark in the late middle ages. This greatly affects the way the movie is viewed because it is essentially an entirely different world. In the movie there are video cameras, cars, phones and skyscrapers, all things that obviously weren’t around during Shakespeare’s time. Even if the movie and the play had been based in the same year, the story still would have been slightly different.
We have read two books this year: ´Of mice and men´ and ´The curious incident of the dog in the night-time’. The books differ a lot, however they also share some similarities. ´ Of mice and men´ is about two men, named Lennie and George, who live in the time of the Great depression. They are looking for a job, but this isn’t easy because Lennie is mentally disabled so George needs to look after him the whole time.
The most popular comedic device used in The Taming of the Shrew is witty language. Everyone bickers back and forth at each other for the entire play. The language is comical, bordering on outrageous sometimes. It keeps audiences intrigued that are reading for the romance and hoops in audiences that wouldn’t normally stick around for a strictly romantic play.
