The immoral war between America and Mexico was very controversial but clearly fell towards America being guilty. This war began in 1846 when newcomers were moving in. Mexico had enforced rules for the newcomers to pursue. By offering cheap land, all Mexico had asked were for the newcomers to follow the laws. This led to Texans feeling unsatisfied with their government which caused them to act out and breaks the rules. When they decided to cut free, this was the beginning of the two year period of war on the border. At the U.S Congress debate on war with Mexico, Joshua Giddings stated, “This war is waged against an unoffending people, without just or adequate cause, for the purposes of conquest; with the design to extend slavery…” This proves that the intentions of the U.S government were to open up the gates of slavery. This is simply unprofessional of them. The United States live by the terms of the constitution which includes the right to freedom. By them trying to enforce slavery is not giving the slaves the right to their freedom. Furthermore, Benjamin Lundy tells how It is also seen as the Texans are being narcissistic due the fact that they had said they wanted their freedom when in reality they wanted to make Texas a slave state. This tells me how Texans lied their way into getting what they want by claiming reasons that were inaccurate. They evidently can not be trusted. They used “wanting their freedom” as an excuse for being able to render slavery. This is undoubtedly unethical because slaves should not exist. There should not be people under your evil rule day and night until you command them
