The novel Sophia’s War by Avi begins with a twelve year old girl named Sophia. During this time was American Revolutionary War. Sophia’s life was changing drastically as her father was missing, her brother was captured, and the city where she lives was burned. A young man named Nathan Hale was caught being a spy and was sentenced to be hung. Sophia and her mother were there when his hanging occurred.

The house of Tudor ruled the English monarchy for the next century until 1603. During his reign England experienced peace, economic growth and political stability. Despite his tenuous claim to the throne, Henry managed to seize the throne and guide the monarchy through a period of transition.

The French Indian War was the starting point of the American Revolution. Britain began to neglect the Colonies which lead to America gained self rule and military experience. Along with that, taxes pushed by Britain created resentment from the colonies and therefore resulted in colonial backlash. Part of the problem was the separation between Britain and the Colonies. The Colonies were an agrarian society, while Britain was evolving into an industrial society, which created a lot of cultural diversity between the two.
The French and Indian war was a seven year war between England and the American colonies and some of the Indians in North America. When the war was over, the French lost control of Canada. The Indians that had been threatening the Americans that lived there were defeated. When the war was only supposed to be against the English and the American Colonists and some of the Indians in North America it changed to become a world war. The British spent a lot of money fighting the war and the colonists had been part of it.

There are consequences of both types of revolution and each revolution has a different course and different driving factors.
In February 1861, a new government was on the horizon in the United States, known as the Confederate States of America. Composed of seven states from the South, this new government looked to separate from a union that they felt was tipping in power towards those who wanted to threaten the rights of the South, especially slavery. Similarly, in early 1775, colonists were preparing for revolution against a power that they felt oppressed their rights and wanted to take away their liberties. However, the Civil War was a not a complete representation of a second American Revolution. The Civil War was more than an unsatisfied party rebelling against a larger power, but a clash between two vastly different ways of life.
In 1509, Henry stepped into his position as king. During Henry’s early years of reign, he naturally embraced his youth, possessing young, lively, and immature qualities. There were two great advantages Henry had. Once he ascended to the throne, his treasury was already in place and it not take much work for him to gain such power.
In the 19th century, Manifest Destiny was a theory created by John O'Sullivan, an American editor and columnist, where he believes that the destiny of American settlers was to expand to the west, while at the same time spread their traditions and their institutions. As a result, many Americans settlers expanded beyond the west coast and gained more land as it caused them to built transcontinental railroads and many other great things. In addition, the American settlers considered the United States to be the best possible way to remake the world in the image of their own country as they believe God had blessed them with the growth of American nation. After encouragement to the Western Expansion, major changes such as technology, social economics, and the roles of women had great effects toward the Americans’ way of living, where it became known as the Industrial Revolution. The Industrial Revolution sparked the way how Americans’ lives changed thanks to advance and new modern technologies that were invented.
