Here begins the tale of a mighty and courageous legend named Beowulf. Beowulf hears the stories of a ferocious monster called Grendel. As a result, Beowulf sets sails to the Dane’s Island. Upon meeting the King, Beowulf asked if they could sleep in The Hall of Herot. However, Grendel makes an arrival, and Beowulf decapitates his arm. Subsequently this caused Grendel’s mother to wreak havoc. Beowulf slays her as well. Several years later a ferocious dragon arises from a deep sleep. While fighting the dragon Beowulf meets Wiglaf. Moreover, Beowulf and Wiglaf are excellent opponents; however, in the book they are explained in more detail, such as Beowulf being a courageous warrior, and Wiglaf being a frail subject. Aside from Beowulf and Wiglaf being excellent opponents, they both have faults. For instance, Beowulf is to prideful. Beowulf takes on dangerous situations without the help of others. Even on the brink of death, Beowulf refuses to give up. In addition, Wiglaf is not as strong or confident, so he hesitates while being submerged in his inner turmoil.
