WILLIAM BYRD AND JONATHAN EDWARDS We all started out a certain way. People among times have moved from place to place, and learned, as well as created, different cultures. The new world was an opportunity for anything to happen, given the freedom of religion. There are two men that started the path for preachers today. William Byrd and Jonathan Edwards were both very well respected, religious men. Although they had a lot in common, they had their differences.They were born and raised in different era’s and cultures. Also, they lived in different states, and they preached quite differently. William Byrd was born to a wealthy family in the state of Virginia, although he grew up in Essex, England. While growing up in Essex, he lived with his uncle.
