Did you know if World War II was fought today, 10 percent of the population would have died? World War ll was the biggest war and the worst war of them all. World war ll was fought between the axis and the allied powers. This world war would have had the biggest consequences and would change history forever. World War ll was the worst war because the world was more modern than World War I also the death toll was greater than World War I The first reason for World War ll being worse was that the world was more modern during World War ll. One key difference between the two World Wars was that “the development of tanks and mechanized infantry meant that armies could move much quicker than they had in other wars.” (Carson 11). This means that …show more content…
Although statistics vary, the total dead in World War II was anywhere from 35,000,000 to Burgess 2 60,000,000; “few have ventured even to try to calculate the total number of persons who were wounded or permanently disabled.” (royde-smith 2). This shows that the amount that were dead in World War ll was in the multi millions, and that there are probably still more people that we do not know about. This is all how World War ll the death in World War ll was much worse than World War l. Some people may argue that world war 1 used many terrible tactics like poison gas. For example, they argue that “those who suffered chemical burns and respiratory problems had long hospitalizations” (patton 8). This argument is wrong because it does not add up to the amount of atomic use in world war ll, and the large increase in the amount of and the usage of gas, tanks, aircrafts, machine guns, and more. There was a terrible thing that happened when “the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki”(Burton 7). All that were in the radius of impact would immediately die. Those who were unlucky enough to survive would suffer terrible burns that would lead to nuclear poisoning and inevitably lead to death. This shows that the atomic bomb killed many people during world war ll and can kill more people faster than the poison gas tactics that they used in world war l. although world war l had poison gas and other things that were used; World War ll had the same stuff and they had even more ways to use
