Compare The Tide Falls And A Psalm Of Life

“The Tide Rises, the Tide Falls,” and “A Psalm of Life” are both great poems written by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, however, “A Psalm of Life” is the poem that lies to my best interest. Yes, each one has it’s own unique style, but the reason why I like this poem is because it simply describes the people of today. This poem resembles how the people of today would rather blend in with the crowd instead of being the light of this world. This poem can be interpreted many ways, yet, if we truly anaylsis this poem, we know for a fact that people should start living in the present and live a life that is fruitful. In fact these to two lines from stanza 6 , “Trust no Future, howe’er pleasant!/Let the dead Past bury its dead!,” tells us that there are two kinds of people in the world. One who lives through daydreaming and one who lives in the present, and many of us today decided to live in the past or in the future like everyone us. Nevertheless, Longfellow message also wants people to actually live in the present, but to live a life full of purpose and value. Footprints, that perhaps another,

We can see that by the great imagery he has included in his poem, the rhythm his given it, and the literary devices he used. His technique was a great way to go about, because by using all of his skills he was able to capture emotion. Throughout this poem emotion was truly there all along, whether you notice it or not. The way he wrote this p9ome, he included emotion by go about the way a human naturally acts to something. For example, when you see or hear something you automatically behave a certain way.
