The american poet Lucy Larcom once said, “A man may make a misanthrope of himself, but he is never one by nature.” In other words one always has a choice as to how social they are in life, but he/she is never forced to be lonely. In the play A Christmas Carol: Scrooge and Marley by Israel Horovitz, he/she speaks of a man that has chosen to be a solitary misanthrope whose name is Scrooge and he goes through changes when three spirits visit him. In these stories, it seems that what the characters truly find valuable always turns out to be something other than money and riches. In Tuck Everlasting what Winnie found valuable in the beginning to her was freedom and just wanted to get out of her house and yard, but through most of the story and by the end she truly found valuable was the friends she had made during her journey and her home, and even though in this story many people would find the immortality that her friends had to be the most valuable thing in the universe, she saw them as valuable friends than immortal people. In A Christmas Carol Scrooge first saw money to be wealthy, but later in the story he saw that wealth to him was kindness and making up for what he had done in
Books are almost always better than the movies based on them. Books give more detail and idea of what is going on. Movies to make them shorter take out huge details. The Christmas Carol is in both forms personally I like the written version more. The written copy is almost always made before the movie.
A Christmas Carol “I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year. I will live in the past, present, and the future. The spirits of all three shall thrive within me. I will not shut out the lessons that they teach me.” ( Play 32 ).
Greed, selfishness, thinking everything is a humbug, and being just pure downright mean. Some people think that no man on earth could be so terrible, these people are wrong. One man is so cruel, so dredful so appaling that anyone who heard his name would tremble in fear. This man is Ebenezer Scrooge, but he wasn’t always this way. Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol is an all time favorite for all ages everywhere.
BA HUMBUG!!!!! Was all that Mr Scrooge said about Christmas, but that all changed one fateful night when spirits came to visit him. Themes of A Christmas Carol Stave 1 In the first stave of the Christmas Carol Scrooge expresses all kinds of different bad emotions. I am going to talk about how he acted greedy. Scrooge always wanted what he could get. On page twelve it shows him being greedy.
In the movie, A Christmas Story and the Christmas Story the class read aloud were very much the same. of The beginning of the movie starts out just like the skit. There are many similarities of the two but some add ons were made or maybe left out of the skit to make it shorter but usually the movie leaves details out. In the movie the settings are the same as of the skit, like when the ghost Bob Marley visited Mr. Scrooge, he told him of three spirits that will visit him.
Some people say, as a person yourself you cannot change. This will definitely change the kind of person you are. If you help yourself, you can make things right for you and change things. If you have support from friends and family it can keep you going. If you work hard and won 't give up you can change yourself easier.

A Christmas Carol In my paper, I plan on explaining different themes of A Christmas Carol and how people should read it. When I was a kid my mom would read me a shorten version of A Christmas Carol. I will have research to back up the themes and why the themes are important to the book.
