Dear Nathan Cashin and First Evangelical Missionary Church Board,
It is a pleasure and a privilege to be under consideration for serving as pastor of First Evangelical Missionary Church. God has been preparing me for pastoral work throughout my life as my Father and spiritual leader, most recently through my position as Director of Young Adult and Senior Youth Ministry at Hillside Evangelical Missionary Church (Heb 12:5-11).
During my time at Trent University, Jesus changed my life forever and I followed him. Though I had learned of Jesus growing up through Bible teaching, this was when he became the centre and purpose of my life. I grew in studying God’s Word, sharing the gospel, and spending time with God in prayer. At this time, I was asked by Pastor Lloyd Eyre at Peterborough Free Methodist Church to share my first sermon. Guiding people to come to Christ, receive freedom from addiction, and extending love to them was so fulfilling (Luke 14:13). Growing in partnership with the Holy Spirit empowered me in this ministry to give the right words to share and to pray for their needs, with healing and deliverance experienced (1 Thess 1:5, Mark 16:16-18). Pastor Larry Lorentz at The Journey Church Fort St. John and my Young Adults leaders at Evangel Chapel asked me to preach at my church and Young Adults group. In my home, I led a fellowship group with young and middle aged adults, which focused on worship, Bible teaching, personal testimony, prayer, and street ministry.
