In this essay, Aengus, Cap, and Farah’s missions were all motivating missions. Aengus’ goal is to find the glimmering girl. Cap’s goal is to cremate his friend Sam. Farah’s mission is to leave her country. They are all determined to complete their mission or reach their goal because they all have something to live for. For example, Aengus lived in love. Cap lived in friendship and Farah lived in freedom. According to the poem, “The Song of the Wandering Aengus” the main character hooked a trout. The trout turn into a girl and he falls in love with that girl. Aengus’ mission was to find the girl.”Though I am old with wandering Through hollow lands, I will find out where she has gone,” (Yeats line 17-19).He wasted his time searching for a girl that may never have existed. Even though he failed, he never gave up on love. Aengus loved her even though she might ever exist in reality. Initially, Cap takes Sam McGee to be cremated because it was his promise to a dying friend. Cap was very successful because he cremated Sam in an old ship's boiler.“Then I burrowed a hole in the glowing coal, and I stuffed in Sam McGee.” (Service line 48) It made Sam feel finally happy and warm.
