Puritan writers like Anne Bradstreet and Jonathan Edwards are deep in religion and thought highly of God. Anne Bradstreet is into religion so much that when what she loves is taken from her, she is ready to go up to heaven and join God. Jonathan Edwards uses fear as a way to get people to believe in God. Both working toward the same goal.
Both Puritan writers focused on religion, but in different ways. Bradstreet focuses on the lighter side of religion where you go up to heaven after death. In his sermons Edwards focuses on the fact that at anytime, whether converted or unconverted, God is dangling you over a pit and can send you to hell if he wants.
