In both the fables “Ant and Grasshopper” and “The Richer, the Poorer” they talk about being prepared. the fables are similar and different in many ways In the first fable “Ant and Grasshopper” one of the main characters wants the other one to share but he doesn’t want to since he worked hard for it. In the other fable “The Richer, the Poorer” the two main characters are sisters where one saves money and the other one just wants to have fun.
The characters in the fables have some actions and personality traits in common.The first pair of characters are Ant and one of the sisters in “The Richer, the Poorer” named Lottie. Both of these characters like to prepare. “She never touched a penny” is a quote about Lottie, this also compares to Ant because he likes to save his food for the winter. Another thing they have in common is that they are both hardworking. A quote from Ant is “I worked hard” this relates to Lottie because in the fable it explains how she loved to work. The Grasshopper and the Bess, the other sister from “The Richer, the Poorer”, have a lot in common too. The outcomes are very different. When the first fable has a moral the other has a theme. The moral of “Ant and Grasshopper” is in good times prepare for when the bad times come. Also, at the end of the fable Ant refuses to share. Something else that happened at the end, was that Ant didn’t care about Grasshopper being cold and hungry. In “The Richer, the Poorer” The theme is even though you should be prepared for the future, you should still enjoy life and have fun. Since, Lottie had only saved her whole life she’s never had any real, and Bess never saved but always tried to have fun.
