When thinking of someone who is a hero, that person is strong, saves the ones who are in distress, and kills the bad guy at the end of the day. A classic tale of how a story works. A hero at the end of the day; is the good guy to the town/country and to the people. When reading Beowulf and Arthur, we saw many differences and similarities between the two men. The story of Beowulf is told as King Hrothgar and his town members who were in distress over the Grendel, the monster who ate the soldiers and realm at night, except the king. Beowulf was the guy who would come and stop this hideous creature from being so nasty at once and for all. Beowulf came over from across the sea to come help King Hrothgar, he was the one who would be willing to stop the Grendel. In this story Beowulf exerts a lot of heroic stature from this, because he is coming to make an offer and try to help King Hrothgar. Beowulf wants nothing more them to help them get rid of this monster. In relations to the Story of Odysseus, beowulf and him both want to help when people are in danger, helping them fight their battles such as the Trojan war for Odysseus when he led that. When Beowulf and his members go out to find and kill the Grendel, he has high hopes to get rid of him for the town. Arthur wasn't liked by many, and didn't do very many noble deeds. In his story he wasn't viewed as a heroic king, he was fighting for his wife Guinevere, and the son who thought he needed to take power. Arthur didn't help anyone fight in battles beside the fact he got help, he didn't fight off any real problems that were troubling to his people. As these problems kept occurring over time he lost his King status to Constantine. Arthur doesn't know what real problems that need fixed and what has to be done when having that
