1-C To many, both Beowulf and Jesus are heroes. In the story of Beowulf, Beowulf risks his life for others the same way Jesus did for our sins. He puts his life on the line just to kill a demon and save other people. Jesus was nailed to the cross all because of ourselves and our sins, which He did not even commit, and allowed them to kill him. Both show a strong character and are willing to die for others, even if the problem doesn’t involve them. Beowulf sailed the ocean just to help other people in a different country. Just like him, Jesus would help others everywhere for no given reason at all. They would always help people even though they never knew what they were getting themselves into. In the story, Grendel is classified as a demon, which relates to Satan. In the Bible, Jesus was always tempted by Satan and can be relevant to the stories of Grendel and Beowulf. He was determined to fight for others, while risking his life. Epic heroes are those who want to do good for other people. In the story, Beowulf protected the people from having Grendel attack once again after 12 years. Without him, the people would not be saved and could be dead. He affected the story by coming to save the people. Through all the bad demons in the story, there was at least one man who came to save them all. After every demon was killed, Beowulf seemed to change a bit. After Grendel, he was relieved until his mother came to attack. Then after she was gone, everything seemed fine until the man stole the cup from the dragon. Although he knew he could do it, he probably did still have a doubt in himself. It seemed as if once he killed something, another one came up and soon he was dead. The deaths of each demon probably did change him a lot because he would have more fame and would feel as if he accomplished something good. As each demon was killed, a new emotion
