Three of the world’s ancient religions are, Christianity, Buddhism and the ancient Sumerian religion. These are some of the world’s most ancient religions. The practices of Christianity and Buddhism are both similar in few ways. But the Sumerian religion is much different. The ancient Sumerian religion is the belief in multiple Gods, also known as polytheism. The ancient Sumerian people believed that their were multiple Gods, that were some how related with star structures. The Sumerian people believed that the Gods were in control of the world and nature. They believed that the Gods were responsible for multiple jobs such as raising the moon and sun, growing grass, changing the seasons and such things. They believed that the Gods could not walk among the humans. They also believed that the Gods had certain symbols such as the sun was a gods chariot crossing the sky. Buddhism is the belief in one man who is not a god but is the base of a religion, Buddha. Buddhists are taught to think for them selves. Buddhists are taught to test what they hear, read, and see to see if they come up to their standards of being true or no. Buddha once said that “it is more important to take the steps hat are needed to end your suffering, rather than to follow endless discussions on the true nature of God” and Buddhists go by that every day of their lives. Buddhist school often do not have gods but a few do because they thing it is wrong to say that they are teaching atheism.
