First we started off by reading The Diary of Anne Frank. Her book was written from her point of view during the time of the holocaust when she was in hiding with her family, the Van Daan family and Albert Dussel. You get to learn what it was like to be in hiding for little over two years from Anne’s side of things. Anne’s book shows you a different side of what it was like to go through the holocaust. Then after reading Anne’s book we got to see a different view on the holocaust by reading Eva Osson’s book, Unlocking the Doors. We got to see what it was like during and after the holocaust from Eva Olsson’s eyes. It was similar to what Anne went through except Eva wasn’t in hiding. With Eva’s book you hear about family, relationships religion …show more content…
Both books were based on the time during the holocaust and both Eva and Anne had to go through the horrible concentration camps. We got to see the bravery of these amazing women. We got to hear how they fought through the tough times and how they would not give up. Both had to go through this as young girls, Anne was 12 when she went into hiding, Eva was 19 when she was sent to a concentration camp in Auschwitz. Anne was in concentration camps as well but died at the Bergen-Belsen camp, Eva had also been in this camp. These women were fighters, they fought through the torture, but sadly Anne wasn’t able to make it past the horrible holocaust like Eva was. If you look at who Anne and Eva are you will see some similarities, like how Anne wanted to be a journalist and writer and Eva wrote her own book. If you look at the similarities of just their books you will see that they are both written from their point of views and involve their families at the beginning. They both show the relationships between them and their family members and relationships with other people. Even during terrible times they were still able to have relationships with others. Being on the topic of books they both have books that they have written and that many people have read. Their story has been shared with the world. Even though there are these similarities you would be …show more content…
In my opinion there are more difference than similarities. There are not only the differences between the two people but there are also differences between the two books. Anne’s book didn’t really seem as detailed as Eva’s but Anne’s book was also written as a diary whereas Eva’s book wasn’t. That could be one reason why one seems more detailed than the other. There’s also the factor of which seemed more interesting and that could be a difference between the two. To me Eva’s book was more interesting and caught my attention more than Anne’s book. It seemed like Eva was more passionate when it came to her writing. If you look at the factor of Anne’s book being a diary it does make sense for most of these differences. There is also the difference of Eva’s book continuing on longer than Anne’s, the reason for that is because Anne wasn’t capable of telling us what happened after she and everyone she was hiding with were caught. We don’t really have great detail of what happened to Anne after she was caught because her diary was left where she was found. This prevented her from telling us more. Even just comparing Eva and Anne’s books you know that they both were written in a different way and bringing this to your attention really explains why there are these differences. So going on with the differences, not thinking about the factor of the different types of books, you will see that Eva’s
