Did you know that both Iran and Afghanistan share both the regions Islam and that women wear the same type of clothing like headgear, clothing,and veils to symbolize the Islamic culture. Also, they both have the same hate against them with the Taliban or just based in Iran, minority groups. In the books A Fort of Nine Towers, and Persepolis you will see the life of a kid from Iran and Afghanistan. Similarities between islamic leader,Differences between education in Iran and Afghanistan, what I learned about the life in the middle east. To begin, there are similarities between the Islamic leaders of both Iran and Afghanistan.In FNT the Taliban has control over women and they have to follow all these rules and regulations. In Iran they are taught the basic writing and reading and arithmetic. Iranian schools, kids have to pass an examination in order to study further in education( World Post). During their sophomore through senior year, which is the college prep year they have to stay on two different tracks, track one is physics, mathematics, sociology-economics(World Post). Track two consists of technical, vocational track area in business and agriculture, after completing grade 11 students receive a diploma determining they are eligible for the 12th grade( World Post). In the book Persepolis, Marjane was always taught that god was the one who chose the king. Her father, however said it was not true ‘’ the truth is that 50 years ago the father of the shah, who is a solider, organized a putsch to overthrow the emperor and install a republic’’ (Satrapi). Also, in Afghanistan it takes up to six years to learn how to read, write, and arithmetic, and natural culture( Classbase). Also, during their sophomore through senior year they have a choice to continue path for three years that can lead to university or study subjects like applied to agriculture,aeronautics,arts etc. In FNT Qais was always taught different teachings and was now being compared to monkeys after the mujahedin arrived ‘’ the teacher told us little by little some of the monkeys changed and became more like humans’’ (Omar 28).
