Comparison Book Vs Film The film “Macbeth” by roman Polanski is not alike the book “Macbeth“. The movie produced by Roman Polanski in 1979 does not follow the book version entirely. Parts of the characters’ actions in the film version are not spelled out in the print version of the play. Also some depictions of the scenes in the film are not well structured.
It is often believed that pictures speak louder than words. However, when comparing a book to a movie, this quote is totally not applicable. The purpose of creating a movie from a book is mainly to bring the characters to life and make the story more relatable. Fantasies, especially, are unrealistic and hence a movie makes the fantasy come to life. The Princess Bride was originally a book which was then filmed as a movie to recreate the story.
Lady Macbeth is placed between “Innocent” and “Guilty” as the “Temptress”. In the beginning of the play, Macbeth has hesitations towards killing King Duncan, but Lady Macbeth mocks his masculinity and persuades him to commit the murder. She is innocent because she did not stab King Duncan and the others herself, but she is the ultimate reason the murders were carried through in the first place. King Duncan is placed between “Innocent” and “Not Guilty” as “Righteous”. The main obstacle between Macbeth and the thrown, he was the first person to have a metaphorical target on his back.
Every story is different; however, they can share similar qualities. Stories can be powerful as the characters experience mirrors similar pathways to ourselves. For instance, obstacles or unknown events and how they find a way for it to resolve can look like our own. A great story contains many different elements. A Midsummer’s Night Dream and The Odyssey are two exciting stories that share similarities and differences.

Beowulf is about a heroic fellow who saves a kingdom from a magical named Grendel. He went through numerous of battles between Grendel, Grendel’s mother and the Dragon. The Illusion of a Perfect Hero Actor Anson Mount once made an insightful observation, “all of us have a hero and a villain in us.” This is something that has been confirmed over time, across cultures, and is also corroborated in famous literary works such as Seamus Heaney’s Beowulf and William Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Key characters in these epics often rose to the occasion and made a positive impact on the society with their exceptional bravery, selflessness and moral courage. There were also instances where the same characters didn’t exercise the best judgment. Although Beowulf had many more heroic moments than Macbeth and Macduff, each of them had their virtues and flaws that surfaced at different times and under different circumstances,
The Inferno vs. Perceval and the Holy Grail The epics The Inferno and Perceval and the Holy Grail are similar in many ways, but they also have some differences too. For example, Dante’s Inferno is an epic about a man traveling through Hell in order to be forgiven for his sins. Perceval and the Holy Grail is another epic about a knight that is traveling home to be with his mother because he feels guilty for leaving her all alone after his father and brother died. The Inferno was a better epic than Perceval and the Holy Grail.
Have you ever watched a movie based on a book that told the exact same story? To me, for some reason, books always seem to be the better one out of the two. I feel that in novels, the author develops the story with as many details as possible, while in movies that aspect doesn’t appear in the same way. There aren’t as many details in films since it has to last for a certain amount of time, but books can last for as many pages as the author would like them to. When I read, the fascinating novel “Beowulf,” I really enjoyed how the author made me use my imagination to create a picture of the world that the characters were living in.
How is the movie and textbook version of Beowulf different? Accordingly, to the movie and textbook version of Beowulf they share particular differences that may change your perspective of all the characters. In the movie Grendel began attacking Herot Hall; however, in the textbook he started off attacking the many people who lived in the village. In the textbook Grendel’s mother was considered a hideous a gorgeous monster who lived in a dungeon in the forest. In the textbook Beowulf’s arm was cut off casing his death, even though, in the movie Beowulf’s death was caused by the dragon fire breath.
Ana Rangel 2/27/17 Period 3 Comparison Essay The play, “The Tragedy of Macbeth,” by William Shakespeare has many differences in the setting than the movie, “Throne of Blood,” directed by Akira Kurosawa. There are many noticeable differences in the play and movie which make the plot different from one another. Macbeth and Throne of Blood are the same story, but different setting.
Many people get killed in Macbeth, La Belle Dame Sans Merci, “Idi Amin Biography”, and in “Vlad the Impaler.” When lady Macbeth rings the bell, that signals for Macbeth to kill King Duncan. When Macbeth kills Duncan, Banquo says the king is dead (ShakeMac 2.3.81-88). In La Belle Dame Sans Merci, the knight thinks the witch is good at first. The witch kills the knight after he makes her a flowered crown (Keats 33-38).
The use of symbols to represent ideas or qualities is used very often in the story, “Morte D’Arthur.” The Excalibur sword, round table, the young maiden walking across the lake, and the pursuit of the Holy Grail all are examples of symbolism used in Thomas Malory's, “Morte D’ Arthur.” ‘“‘And ye see any manner of sword drawn, look that ye come on fiercely, and so slay all that ever before you shadth, for in no wise I will not trust for this treaties.’”’ (Thomas Malory 498)
