One can argue that all movies have a secret meaning behind them, depending on the viewer. Disney movies in particular have a lot of meaningful things to say, despite the childlike presentation of cartoons and vivid colors. Disney/Pixar films are thought of as pieces of media that only appeal to children/adolescents, but they also attract older audiences with content that is simplistic yet harnesses a complex meaning. The movies Wall-E and The Lost City of Atlantis are two Disney/Pixar films that present a similar ideology but have two different storylines. In this response paper I will dissect/analyze the content of both movies and discuss the ideologies that they present. To begin with, Wall-E is an animated movie that had its debut in 2008. This movie appealed to viewers of different ages and demographics, grossing over $63 million the opening week it was released. The movie was directed by Andrew Stanton.
