Gilgamesh and Rama, The Epic Heroes There are a variety of heroic figures that we have read about over the course of our class. Two heroic figures are Gilgamesh and Rama. They are seen as epic heroes in the eyes of the Babylonian and Indian cultures. These two heroic figures are both similar and different from one another. They also each show their priorities and values of their culture. Gilgamesh is a hero in the eyes of the Babylonian people. He was the king of Uruk. Gilgamesh was two-thirds god and one-third man. In the beginning of him being king, he was very cruel to the people. He forced subjects to do labor so that he would be able to finish his building projects.
