The story of John Adams is one that explains that hard work will pay off. John Adams excelled in school and in life. His resume would read like this; Farmer's son, Harvard student, Teacher, Attorney, Vice President, Second President of the United States and Author.
John Adams was born October 30, 1735 to John Adams, Sr. and Susanna Boylston Adams. John had two younger siblings, Peter and Elihu. He was encouraged into a job of ministry at a young age. It was the hope of his parents that John would follow in his brother’s footsteps and take a job in Ministry. He excelled at Harvard University and choose Law over Ministry. During John's graduation ceremony he impressed many people with his speaking skills. After Graduation he moved to Worcester, Massachusetts which was 50 miles away from his college. Due to his amazing speaking skills he got many job offers and choose to teach school.

Deane was a previous member of the first Continental Congress. Deane was accused of mismanagement of funds, and so John Adams was sent instead. When John Adams arrived on April 1, 1778 he found out that the alliance had already been signed. Due to General Gage's victory in Saratoga the alliance was signed February 6, 1778.
