Killing a Friend George and Lennie sat down, ‘“Lennie begged, Le’s get that place now.” “Sure right now. I gotta. We gotta….”
Lennie is sad, and a little bit of disappointed in himself now that he is worried that he can't tend the rabbits on the farm since he is untrustworthy with animal. When Curley's wife joined him in the barn
Lennie then runs away looking for safety. When the boys get back, Candy see's Curley's wife lying dead. Curley is quick to blame it on someone, and that someone is Lennie. George is obligated to shoot and kill Lennie; he remembers the spot where he previously told lennie to go in case of an emergency and goes out to search for him. George finds lennie and is left with the hard decision of killing his best friend.
No matter how good we act or how humane we are, due to our lack of personality and abilities, we can never achieve what we deserve. As individuals, many people do good deeds towards others every day, but nobody earns what they deserve. Everyone is a good person at heart and deserves a better life than what they have now, but due to our limitations we can’t always achieve them, similarly to Lennie and George’s situation as they struggled in the limited world in gaining money for a piece of land as “all men dream of”, “We gotta get a big stake together. I know a little place we can get cheap, but they ain’t givin’ it away” (56). In addition, no matter how good someone is or how hard they work, they will never achieve their dreams because dreams
[...] Lennie jarred, and then settled slowly forward to the sand, and he lay without quivering.” (Steinbeck 106). Lennie and George never expected that Lennie would murder Curley’s wife and cause their dream to die. Lennie’s dream was very close to becoming a reality but due to the fragile state of dreams it was shattered. Lennie’s death caused the end of his dream.
George was silent (103). Lennie knew what he did was bad but to him it was just something that happened all the time with rabbits and mice. He didn't understand the damage he caused but George did and he knew what the right thing to do was. George’s best friend was Lennie and he cares about him a lot which is what made the situation he was in a lot more
Curley’s wife asked him to stop when he did not stop she began to scream. Lennie covered her mouth and nose with his and cause he was scared and did not want to get in trouble because she was screaming. Lennie ended up killing Curley’s wife (91). Lennie did not know his own strength so when he got scared and held on it got him in trouble. In the end George decided to kill Lennie.
In John Steinbeck's novel Of Mice and Men he describes two characters, Slim and Curley's wife. Steinbeck uses imagery to portray the negative and positive differences between the two characters. The character Slim is relatively shown in a majestic light, hence "the prince of the ranch". But in opposition to this Curley's wife was depicted as having hair like "sausages" with "rouged lips", not at all similar to royalty. Another main contrast is that while Slim's character description was more directed towards his persona, Curley's wife had an introduction based on her appearance.

In the novella, Of Mice and Men, the author John Steinbeck illustrates a ranch in the 1930’s during the great depression where those who fit into mainstream society run the show, and those deemed “outcasts” are rendered useless. Steinbeck depicts characters with setbacks that diminish their value in the eyes of society, and contrasts them to characters that have no difficulties conforming to the norm. Crooks, being a black man isolated by his race, and Candy, a elderly man limited by his age and missing limb are examples of Steinbeck characters that experience hardships because of the differences. The poor treatment of Crooks and Candy by the other characters, and their chronic unhappiness in a place that doesn’t value them, comments on how

For this essay I am going to write about the pros and cons about why George and Lennie´s partnership would be good and bad, For this part of the essay I am going to be writing about why I think Lennie and George´s partnership would be beneficial. For example I think that George and Lennie´s partnership would be beneficial because, Lennie does not seem as bright of a person like George. Another reason why I think that their partnership would be beneficial is because George seems tough, and he looks like he can do a lot of things on his own with or without Lennie. But, Lennie looks like he would have a hard time surviving without George because Lennie seems like he has a hard time understanding a lot of things, he could also be a little mentally
This shows that George thought Lennie should die. George has said throughout the book that his life would be so much easier if Lennie was not in it. George found out a way to finally get rid of
