While both of these stories contain elements of chivalry, honor, and ethics, these elements are also what set them apart from each other. It seems as if the knighthood element of Morte Darthur is different than the element of knighthood in Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. For example, in Morte Darthur, after Guinevere's gives Arthur the round table, she rewards knights for behaving well and punishes those that don't. It seems almost as if knighthood is taken more seriously in Morte Darthur than it is in the Green Knight. Another difference between the two stories is how seriously the main characters, Sir Gawain, and King Arthur take being a knight.
