Comparing Macbeth 'And' A Midsummer Night's Dream

Shakespeare has written a vast amount of comedies and tragedies. Critics have debated which are better, comedies or tragedies. One of Shakespeare’s most famous tragedies is Macbeth which is about a man obsessed with murder and power. A Midsummer Night’s Dream has many different plots but one in particular relates to Macbeth, the obsession with the lovers. Macbeth and A Midsummer Night’s Dream are two different genres but they do have similarities, such as magic. Magic is a big part of both books while Macbeth has the witches who tell prophecies the difference is the witches do not put any magic on them they chose their fate. This sets the scene very dark (Crowell). A Midsummer Night’s Dream has the fairies but the characters had no choice
