Have you ever read a book and thought about society and how even books from 100 years ago can be just like how society is now? In The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn society is very racist and there were a lot of problems with families. Some of the things in nows society are different because of all the changing technologies but are still mainly the same. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and society in 2018 are very much the same because of violence, scams/cons, and racism. In Huckleberry Finn, Huck is abused by his father Pap and so Huck pretends to be dead so Pap will stop chasing him to try and kill him. Huck found a large sum of money,$6,000. You enter racism and instantly people are interested in telling their side of their story. In Huckleberry Finn, almost every character has something to do with racism. Even Huck who spends the whole book with Jim he is still human and still has racial slurs because that is how he was raised. He likes Jim and sees Jim as family but some of the things he says towards him are just because of his guardian Mrs. Watson. That is the main similarity with society today with racism that the children are not racist until their parents tell them that African Americans are such bad people because of all the different reasons.
