“Help! Help! Help! My lord, the Marquis de Carabas, is Drowning!” Master Cat said this in the story “Master Cat or Puss in Boots”. Master Cat is a written fairytale about a cat, his master and his quest on gaining wealth. He lies to a king, threatens peasants, and even killed to give his master the wealth he promised. “Master Cat” and “Coyote Steals Fire” are two tales with both similarities and differences. In “Mater Cat” and “Coyote Steals Fire”, there are many similarities and differences. The first similarity between the tale is that both tricksters reached their goals. Master cat was able to make his master and himself wealthy. Sadly, he had lied, threatened, and even killed to reach his goal. Coyote was able to win the fire from Thunder.
