My Views on Evolution and Creation Evolution and creation are a controversial topics that are different among individuals. There are many theories on evolution and creation that exist depending on the person’s beliefs. Religious and scientific views influence these theories. I believe that both religion and science are factors in evolution and creation, which is known as theistic evolution. Countless theories on evolution and creation are put into place based on someone’s ideologies. There are people who believe that the earth is flat, people who believe that the earth is the center of the universe, and innumerable other theories. As a Christian, I believe in theistic evolution because I think that God came up with the idea of life, and had science take over the rest. The Bible contains God’s Word. In Genesis 1:1-31, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and ]the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day…” In my opinion, God gives some directions to science, and science follows them. The quoted text would be an example of directions God gave to science. Science is also a huge factor in theistic evolution. Evolution and creation are affected by science. Charles Darwin's theory is known widely as the scientific theory of evolution. Part of Darwin’s theory of evolution explains that all life on Earth is connected and related to each other. This part of Darwin’s theory of evolution I do believe. However. I do not believe the natural selection part of the theory, where some traits were favored in the environment over others.
