Man’s connection to nature is a common theme throughout these movies/novels. The connection is that Nature is more important than we think and that we need nature to survive. All of these movies/novels share a common issue, that man needs to respect and protect the environment. Avatar by James Cameron, The Lorax by Dr Seuss, A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness and Wall-E by Jim Morris and Andrew Stanton all share this common issue where nature is being destroyed and the human race is paying the price.
The movie Avatar by James Cameron explores a futuristic and creative world. In this world lives many magical creatures including the Navi. They live on a planet called Pandora which is full of special rocks worth lots of money. In this movie humans are trying to colonise Pandora

The Lorax is about a Human named the “Once-ler” who chopped down all the trees to make Thneeds. The Once-ler for money and fame The Once-ler wanted more money so he went and destroyed the whole forest and build factories because of greed. This saw in all the wildlife evacuating and being killed. The Once-ler realises his mistake and gives a seed to a young boy to plant the last tree. “I the Once-ler felt sad as I watched them go, but business must grow, regardless of the crummies in tummies you know.” This shows that the Once-ler isn't happy about what he is doing but is blinded by greed. Dr Seuss has written The Lorax as a children's book because he wants to educate the children not to make the same mistake that we are making today because they are the future. Dr Seuss is trying to get the message across that Man kind and nature are connected and that man cannot live without nature. Dr Suess used this issue of deforestation because it is an important issue that is occurring in the real world today. This connects to the Avatar, A Monster Calls and Wall-E as they all symbolise the common issue that man needs
