I believe Paganism, Witchcraft, and Wicca should be viewed in the same way all other religions are. No religion can be deemed wrong or irrelevant based on how many people worship it or the public perception. Religion is personal to the people who practice it and no outside influence should actively be trying to alter a belief of another. The past surrounding Witchcraft and Paganism is not very pleasant and they have been subject to persecution and cruelty throughout the centuries. Wicca is the modern day form of Witchcraft that has evolved in keeping with the element of magic, tying it to its roots, but with a new Earth inspired aspect. There is no right or wrong way to be a Pagan and a freedom exists among them all that emphasizes individual expression without oppression. The faith is not structured in the same way as many other Religions, with a holy building as the main place of worship, but instead incorporates nature into their rituals. Some Pagans do not identify with the supernatural aspect but all are focused on their current state, and have no concerns with the sentiment of the afterlife. Paganism has never been regarded with the highest admiration, with it being seen as a dirty word by some, but it has been around for many years and it is about time it is recognized with compassion. Witchcraft has been changed from a fear inducing word to one that conjures up the image of a cartoon Witch with green skin flying across the sky on a broomstick, it has lost its meaning. People take things at surface value and no longer investigate the true meaning behind a culture or Religion, instead only accepting a single-story. People have lost their life due to a faith they believe in and will not alter due to popular demand, and that just shows why it is so important that we as people are accepting of all. Getting people to believe the same thing is not the war we should be fighting but instead one where we think it is okay to worship whoever or whatever we want.
