In the movie The Christmas Carol Scrooge was a business man, he was not nice to other people and did not like Christmas since his partner died on Christmas Eve. After he came from work his partner showed up as a ghost and warned him about three spirits that are going to visit him and each spirit shows him the past, present, and future. The spirit of Christmas that affected Scrooge the most were the spirit of Christmas future. Scrooge did not care about any one after his partner died on Christmas Eve. Once his partner visited him he was supposed to be visited by ghost past, present, and future.
In both the play and the movie Scrooge’s former co-worker, Jacob Marley, shows up in ghost form wrapped in chains. He tells Scrooge of the ghosts that will visit him, and this marks a change for Scrooge’s actions on Christmas.
One song that relates to the theme of Past, Present and Future: The Threat of Time, is Summertime’s End by Weather. This song is about regrets of the past but has a positive outlook of the future. Lyrics of the song include “I’m sorry I did wrong” showing regret of something he did in the past. This relates to the theme because it shows how someone can show regret from past decisions (the threat of time). Scrooge feels this when he visits past Christmases with the Ghost of Christmas Past.
Christmas is times for poorer and richer enjoy together except for one man that being ignore and mean to other people and his family. He’s name Scrooge. He is such a mean person that always cares about money than any other things. On Christmas day his friend Jacob came to visit him as a ghost and told scrooge that there will 3 more ghosts came to visit him. First, the past ghost brought him to his past time that full of joy.
The ghost of Christmas Past shows Scrooge his young self with a woman who is crying. The woman talks to him about how he loves money more than her. The woman says her final goodbye to Scrooge, after their conversation, then leaves for good. Scrooge starts to yell at his young self telling him to not let her leave but the younger Scrooge can not hear him. Scrooge then begs to leave but the ghost of Christmas Past says “I have told you these were shadows of the things that have been.
The play “Christmas Carol” includes three spirits that visit Scrooge that change him in some way. The Ghost of Christmas Past, The Ghost of Christmas Present, and the Ghost of the Future are all similar because of their main motive, to change Scrooge. For example, Scrooge says “ Remove me! I cannot bear it.” The Ghost of Christmas Past had shown memories that were haunting Scrooge, which Scrooge had tried to forget them in the past.
Marley tells scrooge that three other ghosts are going to come to Scrooge home, and leaves after telling Scrooge to change his ways before it's hurts him. Scrooge thinks nothing of this and thinks it a illness, but as Marley said, he would get visited from one of the Ghost of Christmas that is named Past. This ghost takes scrooge down memory lane of his childhood memories and Scrooge sadly begins sob when he think about his past as a boy. The past also features events from Scrooge's young adulthood, when he transforms into the rude miser that he ends up being after rejecting his wife and not learning the lessons of kindness taught by Fezziwig, the man he was apprenticed to.
When the Ghost of Christmas Past visits him, he is worried and very confused. Ebenezer Scrooge thinks that the entire thing is a joke. “There’s more gravy than of grave about you, whatever you are.” His actions illustrate how simple his life was, by catching him completely off guard, and showing that all of his joy is gone. He becomes terribly frightened by reliving his past.
Through the Ghost of Christmas Future Ebenezer becomes aware that no one cares for him or even loves him. When villagers hear that Ebenezer Scrooge dies, they start to rejoice. In a like manner, the people who worked for Scrooge became overjoyed and began to rummage through his belongings, selling his things to make money for themselves. The ghost of Christmas past, present, and future(Dickens 9,10). As Marly leaves and the ghost of christmas past comes, Scrooge at first is very frightened. The ghost then tells scrooge to touch her robe and they magically travel to the old past when they see Scrooge as a young school boy where they can see how Ebenezer’s father really hated him because his wife died giving birth to him. Now Scrooge’s dad blames him for it(Dickens 13,14,15). The spirit next takes him to his teenage years where scrooge sees himself as a young happy and poor boy at a dance party with his long time girlfriend.
At 1:00 a.m. the night before Christmas, Scrooge was visited by the ghost of Christmases before. This ghost showed scrooge how happy he was then. The ghost also showed him where he started to go in the wrong direction. Later that night at 2:00 a.m., the ghost of Christmas present showed scrooge how Christmas would go that morning. The employee for Scrooge had a very sick son and would not make it much longer and Scrooge did not realize how bad he was until the ghost showed him.
After Marley warns him not to end up like himself, and informs him that he will be visited by three ghosts, the first ghost arrives in Scrooge’s home. This is the the Ghost of Christmas Past. The spirit is dressed in a bright white tunic and is holding branch of luscious green holly. The ghost shows him scenes from when he was younger. These scenes make a massive impact on Scrooge.

The story, “A Christmas Carol”, is about a cold-hearted man named Scrooge who transforms himself into a jolly, kind man when three Ghosts teach Scrooge about the spirit of Christmas. In the story, Charles Dickens illustrates the theme of how no one is past redemption through the transformation of Scrooge’s personality by the lessons of the Spirits. At the beginning of the story, Scrooge’s selfish personality is revealed, and the Ghost of Christmas Past comes and shows him the memories and truth of his life long ago.
One night, in a dream, he is warned by his deceased friend, Marley, that three spirits would come to him. The first spirit is the spirit of Christmas past, and it shows him an event from his past. In the event, Scrooge is seen leaving his lover because she is too poor. Scrooge regrets this decision greatly. The next spirit tells him about the present, and it shows him how his employee, Bob Cratchit, is suffering.
