The book and movie told the story of Frankenstein, a mad scientist who suceeded to reanimate dead tissue, creating a monster who after learning his place in the world, took it upon himself to get revenge for bringing him to life. The monster then proceeds to slowly kill of Frankensteins family one by one. He then confronts Frankenstein and asks for a mate, which Frankenstein refuses to do. The monster then kills his wife, and later Frankenstein dies of a heart attack. The monster feels sorrow for his actions, and leaves forever. As you will soon see, the book and the movie are nothing alike. The original work by Mary Shelley was more in depth about Frankensteins fear and hate for the monster and how he despised his creature. He was desperate to get rid of the creature because it was tear his family and friends away from him. The move had the monster as a instinct driven oaf who could only destroy things, as the book had the monster as a literate and comprehending being who had extreme speed and strength. The movie also had the names of the main characters backwards, Victor the scientist being switched with his good friend Henry. Victor also revealed his monster to atleast four people, and was not the least bit scared they would tell anyone. There was also fire wielding mobs that chased after the monster and eventually killed it. In the book however, the monster was never killed, and instead just ran away never to be seen again. On the subject of the monster, In the book he was to be bulky, blonde-headed and mummified looking. In the movie he had dark hair, sickly green skin and was tall and broad shouldered. Frankenstein, instead of being wild haired, shaking, and terrified, was instead gentlemanly, understanding, and collected. As I hope you can plainly see, the book and movie, are nothing like each
