When comparing these principles with real life events and situations, it can actually apply. There are many events we know or had experience when the six principles of democracy take place. Some events that I chose was Christmas, birthday parties, and weddings.
Let’s start with events. A good examples of an event that you always experience is Christmas. Now compare this with limited government. Limited government is when the powers of the government are fewer than the power of people. During Christmas, your parents control how much money your spending for gifts. But, you can control what gift you want. It’s your choice to choose the present, and your parent’s choice to determine if it’s on sale and not too expensive. Politics don’t mean democracy always. When replacing the word government with money, you get limited amounts of money. Christmas can also be considered as federalism. Federalism is when each state has their own state laws but they still have to follow government rules. When you get presents you can open them. But there is rules for opening presents. It’s called popular sovereignty. When you are in the situation of choosing your birthday cake or what kind of cake more specifically it can lead to problems. Everyone wants ice-cream cake which is the more popular vote, but your parents decide to buy a pie instead since it is cheap. You wanted an ice-cream cake, you got a pie. Everyone at your party will be sad but your parents got to save some extra bills. Now for your party guest. You may be in charge since it is your birthday but you have to make sure everyone has an equal amount of things.
