1. After watching FOX’s Sleepy Hollow there are many differences between the short story and the show. The two most significant and meaningful changes in my opinion are Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman. In the story Crane is a goofy looking individual, who works as the town’s school master, and is trying to gain the love of Katrina. The show presents him as a Revolutionary War soldier, who was a history professor at a college in England, was a spy for George Washington, married to Katrina, killed the Headless Horseman in battle, and came back from the dead to battle the Horseman again. The Headless Horseman in the story is a legend. He was beheaded by a cannon ball in the Revolutionary War, who as a spirit would go looking for his head
