Sometimes the American Dream doesn’t come true, it’s an idea people hope for. Immigrants from all over the world have gone to the United States of America in hope of a better life for themselves and their children. This dream is fueled by the hope of one day leading a happy and prosperous life in a land that allows far more liberty and opportunities than any other. The American Dream is the idea of an individual overcoming all obstacles and beating all odds to one day be successful. This subject is the predominant theme in John Steinbeck’s novel Of Mice and Men. In John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men, he explores how the American Dream and the desire of accomplishing it affects all human beings through the characters of Lennie,Candy,and Curley’s wife.
