This essay discussed the components of what constitutes quality television have been analyzed constantly and will continue to be. Furthermore, the genre of reality television appears to be popular also the level of impact that this genre has on the conduct of society is extreme. Australia’s The Bachelor and Australian Story will be discussed within the criteria of quality television. All aspects of The Bachelor considered ‘quality’ can be replicated in Australian Story in a more sophisticated and honorable form proving that. Through close analysis of The Bachelor, manipulation and fabrication of emotions is portrayed, whereas Australian Story displays representation of raw emotion. The impact that the different programs have on society will also be discussed reflecting the connection between the audiences due to the underlying similarities.
