“Toni Morrison has written several novels known for their epic themes and vivid dialogue.” Some of the novels include “The Bluest Eye” and “Song of Solomon”. In both novels, Morrison references the ongoing issue of racism. Morrison uses the settings and the goal that each main character strives to achieve as similarities.
In both stories Morrison uses the setting of the time in America when racism was most prevalent. Though Milkman in “Song of Solomon” comes from a wealthy black family he is still oppressed against. And in “The Bluest Eye” Pecola Breedlove is thought less of because of the color of her skin. While both stories are set in different places in America they both are set during the time of extreme racism.
