Music is a tool used to be able to connect with different cultures and languages around the world. Because of its power, it can define communities, a person, and their identity as a whole. In this essay, we will focus on the impact of music through the lenses of two extraordinary musical groups: the Brianna Thomas Band and the Imani Winds. These groups express the diverse ways in which music enriches lives, promotes cultural exchange, and inspires social change. The genres they often include in their music include work from African Americans, Latin Americans, and plenty of other composers with different identities and backgrounds. These composers help highlight the rich culture of these composers and how Imani winds express their identities and cultural backgrounds beautifully with just aerophones. Imani Winds uses its platform as a world-renowned group to showcase the composer's work as well as the beautiful culture and experience behind the music that can provide a deep understanding of people's backgrounds and promote cultural exchange. The Brianna Thomas Band, comprised of the lead vocalist, Brianna Thomas, provides its audience with traditional jazz when plenty of other influences are combined. This band has amassed lots of support when it comes to its significance and status in the jazz community and other cultures and communities.
