In the book Silence by Sarah Roche-Mahdi, the author depicts the life of Silence, the daughter of Cador and Eufemie, who grows up and lives under the disguise of a boy under the rule of King Evan, a stern yet respected leader who prohibits women from inheriting any land or possessions. The portrayal of justice is notable throughout the novel as every character confronts this idea of justice at some point, and Roche-Mahdi clearly expresses that the responsibility to uphold justice often lies within those in positions of power. At the beginning of the novel, King Evan is introduced as the one who upholds justice in the realm by maintaining peace and chivalry (Roche-Mahdi 7). He is responsible for the well-being of his kingdom, and Roche-Mahdi

Speak Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Selective Mutism “I know my head isn’t screwed on straight. I want to leave, confess everything, hand over the guilt and mistake and anger to someone else. We have come a long way from the dark times when we, americans, exercised slavery throughout the country. From when african americans fought for their freedom. From when they pursued through the rigorous implications caused by white men. From when public areas were segregated between white and black races. High school to some first year students is option A, a fresh start; time to make new friends, gain a good reputation, and all around be a new person. Or it can be option B, a complete nightmare; stress overload, mental health issues: such as anxiety, depression etc., and possibly the worst four years of your life. Melinda Sordino from Laurie Halse Anderson’s novel Speak seems to be more for option B. The summer leading into grade nine Melinda was raped, and she had no one to talk to. Her friends will not talk to her, she dislikes most of her teachers, and her parents never have time to notice her.

In the Section Hate Crime, the play Big Head incorporates the idea of Claymation to demonstrate the idea of racial hatred being the cause of hurting people physically. In this part, a South Asian American and his family were brutally hit by the Asian Americans who mistakenly thought of the family to be Middle Eastern as the family was coming out of the Karaoke bar. This act of violence raises the question that how can one hate the people of other race to an extent that he/she would actually hit the other person so brutally. They learn lessons on their journey and come out as changed people that barely resemble the characters in the traditional stories. In this way, Into The Woods is the musical liminoid pilgrimage of classic storybook characters.
