The Communist Manifesto written by Karl Marx and Frederick Engels discusses the history of class conflicts. Marx and Engels talks about how the direction of all the societies is determined by the modes of production. Modes of production are the varied ways that human beings produce the means in order to survive and continue to support human beings. Marx specifically believed that modes of production could characterize human history. They believe that once the mode of production does not satisfy the societies there will be a revolution between the classes. If you own the factory then you have the power to control the working process. As the owner you decide how much a person works, and how much they get paid. Marx disagrees with the equal exchange that most business have today. This idea of a worker giving a certain amount of hours of work and the boss has to pay them enough money to compensate for the work. Many companies are increasing how many things workers put together in a minute but do not pay them more for the increased amount of work they are doing. The owners can exploit the workers so they worker harder and longer but are not paid me because of it. The Industrial revolution formed the bourgeoisie into a more revolutionary class. By doing this it helped the middle class rise up and be the head of the politics and economics throughout Europe. The revolution also forced owners to push more products out of their factories to maintain the competitive edge and work to meet the ever-growing demands for products. When a business moves on to something else when the thing they are currently using is not working. For many businesses this means when the workers are not working fast enough to generate a high enough profit for the owner, the owner is forced to look for other ways. The owner moves to machines. Machines that can do double or even triple the work of a person and they do not have to pay them. In today’s society people want things that are the cheaper the better but still of good quality. Many companies today are moving to countries where work is not regulated and they can pay the workers as little as they want. They expect so much from workers, until they can find some cheaper and faster method they can move onto. The revolution will arise according to Marx because of the struggle of power between the classes. The conflict arises when it becomes apparent how much the owners of the factories are profiting from the labor of the workers and how little the workers are receiving from their work. When this becomes apparent, it will cause the proletariats to revolt and try to overthrow the higher class. The goal of this revolution will be to form a socialistic society based on the equal earning of a person’s labor.
