Throughout history there have been many great civilizations. The cultural and intellectual achievement of these civilizations have contributed to the great success humans have achieved. A civilization is defined as the stage of human social development and organization that is considered most advanced.
The earliest group of people were called nomads. They were not yet a civilization, but contributed to many ideas that led to a civilization.Nomads are people that move from place to place, hunting and gathering their food. The first dynasty was the Zhou dynasty. One of their intellectual achievements was they used iron to make better and stronger tools. This increased many thing like food production. Another intellectual achievement the zhou dynasty had was they used money. This money helped them because it increased trade for them. The next dynasty was Qin dynasty. One of their intellectual achievements was they created a centralized government. They standardized measurements, created national coins, and repaired canals and roads. One of the greatest achievements of the Qin dynasty was the Great wall, which took thousands of workers many years to build. The purpose of this wall was to keep out invaders. The last dynasty is the Han dynasty. One of their intellectual achievements was that they established a civil service system. This system strengthened their government and used confucian values in their everyday lives. One cultural achievement the Han dynasty had was they created jade and ivory carvings. They were able to use the resources they had in china and made art pieces out of them. Another intellectual achievement they had was they learned how to make paper out of wood pulp and made fishing rods.
