Ill try to compare and contrast the two since the movie does not depict the story exactly as how the novel does. Similarities There were still some similarities in the film that tied back to the book. One of the main ones is when Nick walks to Gatsby’s backyard and finds him standing at the edge of his dock reaching out to what was a green light.
Great Gatsby Essay The Great Gatsby written by Scott F. Fitzgerald a fiction book written about the 1920s during the era of Jazz, prohibition and bootlegging. The Great Gatsby had many important characters that played a big role in the plot. Many of the characters did not change throughout the novel like Gatsby never changed and was very static throughout the novel but others were very dynamic and changed throughout the novel in many ways. NIck Carraway is the narrator of the story but is also the main character in his story.
In this picture you can see, there are two characters: Nick Carraway and Jay Gatsby. They are waiting for Daisy. Gatsby said Nick, that he invites Daisy to take a tea. Immediately, Jay dressed up all the house with flowers everywhere, almost without a place for sit. Also there are some cupcakes and of course, tea.
The character, Nick Carraway would be portrayed by Timothee Chalamet. Timothee Chalamet is an American actor. He began his career in short films, but he has been getting more exposure especially from the recent Oscars. I believe Timothee would play this role best , because he is so transparent and non judgemental in real life. He is quite young, so he would be very committed and focused on being the best Nick possible.

Scott Fitzgerald’s famed novel, The Great Gatsby. Both of them reflect America in the Twenties by showing lifestyles and behaviors of people who lived in that time. We can follow their beliefs, actions, and morality through the works. While Allen was seeking to capture a decade, F. Scott Fitzgerald did a good job by pointing to the main issues during that time.

Nick Carraway and Nick Adams represent Fitzgerald and Hemingway, both serving as apertures into Fitzgerald’s and Hemingway’s view of the world.
In the story "The Great Gatsby" Nick has a favorable opinion of Jay Gatsby. In the first chapter of the book Nick states "When I came back from the East last autumn I felt that I wanted the world to be in uniform and at a sort of moral attention forever; I wanted no more riotous excursions with privileged glimpses into the human heart. Only Gatsby, the man who gives his name to this book, was exempt from my reaction- Gatsby, who represented everything for which I have an unaffected scorn. " The book gives many examples of Nick thinking of Gatsby as the "Great" such as Gatsby 's smile, what Gatsby was willing to do for Daisy, and what Gatsby did for himself.

The entire plot of the movie “The Great Gatsby,” directed by Baz Luhrmann, is pretty much very accurate to the novel of the same name written by author F. Scott Fitzgerald. They both center around a man named Jay Gatsby who throws extravagant parties in hope that one day his love Daisy will wander in. Of course like all movies that are based off of books they all have their similarities and differences. Whether they be very small or very noticeable, sometimes even changing the entire story completely, they are still there. Sometimes the purpose of this could be that the director wants to add their own little twist to the story or it could be that they are going for a much deeper meaning or symbolism.
