God is always willing to help turn anyone’s life around to further His redemption of the world. C. S. Lewis was a great example of how God can take any person and make him something truly special. C. S. Lewis’s various novels, and even his life, has inspired and encouraged disciples of people for nearly 100 years. Lewis lived during World war II which was a very hard time in history, inspired many people in their faith through his various works, and wrote many famous and influential novels.

Although this book was not popular in its beginning, it has boasted to selling over 100 million copies world- wide to date. "The story focused on four siblings who, during wartime, walk through an armoire to enter the magical world of Narnia" (“C.S. Lewis Biography”). This book related very closely to the historical situation of Lewis’s time. During World War II, England recommended and sometimes forced many children to leave the larger cities to take refuge from the constant bombing in more rural and less populated areas. This quote is one of many examples of how Lewis greatly impacted someone’s life that he did not even necessarily know. One of the reason’s Lewis’s impact was so great was because of his parents A.J. Lewis and Flora August Hamilton Lewis who influenced him throughout his life. During his childhood, Lewis was absolutely obsessed with reading books and writing stories. "Lewis was something of a prodigy: he was reading by age three and by five had begun writing stories about a fantasy land populated by “dressed animals,” influenced by the stories of Beatrix Potter, which were being published as Lewis grew up" (“C.S. Lewis”). Beatrix Potter’s stories became the first stories that Lewis thoroughly enjoyed as a child. Her style of bringing animals to life influenced his writing style, especially in his Chronicles of Narnia series. He also always found ways to include various Bible references in his many novels.
