Father: Arthur's Father affected him by keeping him in the house and making him anti-social. The legend was that he was cutting papers for his scrapbook and he stabbed his father in the leg and returned to cutting the paper like nothing happened. He was taken to a courthouse and was locked up for a month, then his father said he would take care of everything, and kept him inside of the house. Afterwards, he didn’t come out of the house during the day because his father kept him inside, and prevented him from communicating with people. Because he didn’t go out during the day and also didn’t talk to anyone, he became mysterious to everyone.

Bertram Cates is accused of illegally teaching evolution, and Henry Drummond is called in to defend him against the prosecution, Matthew Harrison Brady. Ultimately, Cates is convicted, but the town becomes more open-minded and supports free thinking. Henry Drummond’s virtue, eloquence, and kindness enable him to make a case for man’s right to think.

Without doubting, the story of King Arthur would always be his victory. Once they got to the tournament, Sir Kay realized he forgot his sword and he needed it for contests, so he asked Wart to go find his. Wart felt a little disrespected by him asking him to do this task. “‘To offer me money!’cried the Wart to himself.
King Arthur is one of the best kings that has ruled over Britain, throughout all of history. Arthur ruled with honor, loyalty, and chivalry, which made him a great king. Many lessons that he learned on his journeys helped him to become the person that he is. Arthur’s journey becoming king can be seen in the novel The Sword in the Stone by T.H. White, and is very similar to Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey.

One of the biggest debates on the Anglo-Saxon period is whether or not King Arthur existed or did not exist. King Arthur is said to have ruled during the fifth and sixth century, yet all the documentations about him were not released until around the twelfth century. During the twelfth century, courtly and chivalry writing was starting to be introduced into the literature world. It seems to be very coincidental that stories of a romantic, heroic leader start to appear after this uprising. There were many battles in the text History of the Britons that pinpoint Arthur being apart of, but the timing and location making it physically impossible for any human to be a part of.

The first character Merlyn, a magician, teaches Arthur very important lessons and becomes his advisor when Arthur rises to power. Another character is Uther Pendragon. Uther Pendragon is Arthur’s father and plays an important role in The Sword In The Stone by T.H White.
