The political and legal framework of Nicaragua is comprises of executive, legislative, electoral and judicial. The recent trend in Nicaragua is only few political parties participate for the presidential election as observed from the past two elections. Sandinista national liberation front, holding the higher number seats having Daniel Ortega as the president is a threat to the rule of law in Nicaragua. The judicial system suffers from corruption and long delays in enforcement of laws. The Supreme Court is controlled by the Sandinista judges.
