Comparing The Raven And Crows In Aboriginal Mythology
300 Words2 Pages
Ravens and crows are often used in aboriginal myths and legends. In many of these stories, crows and ravens are portrayed as tricksters. In the two legends, “The Raven and the Crow” and “The Crow and the Eagle”, both birds are similar in that they are both trickster, however, they are different in how successful they are, who they end up affecting as well as if they use supernatural powers. The raven savagely invites all of his friends to the crow’s house for a potlatch as a way to get food even though he has been lazy and didn't collect food all summer. He uses all of the crow’s food to feed all the animals he has invited. The crow believes that even though he has fed all the animals, at least he's going to get invited to his guests’ potlatches.
